Japanese 3DS owners will be able to download the original Mario Bros. game via the 3DS eShop from next week.
The iconic old-school platformer has been given the 3DS Virtual Console treatment and will be released in Japan on May 8 for 500 Yen, according to Siliconera translations.
While there's no word on a Western release, its arrival on the Japanese 3Shop certainly signals its imminent arrival in other regions.
The Virtual Console service - which allows the download and play of classic games - recently launched for Wii U with a small selection of NES and Super NES titles including F-Zero and Punch-Out!!.
