Bungie said in a statement: "Today, we're happy to announce that we've added a fourth console to the list of Destiny platforms.

"Destiny will ship on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and the recently announced Xbox One.

"We're excited by the opportunity to reach more players than ever before, and we can't wait to show you more of what we've been up to at this year's E3."

Bungie's first post-Halo project sees players take control of a Guardian protecting the last safe city on Earth. Fighting mysterious alien foes both on Earth and beyond, the key goal will be to reclaim mankind's lost territory and become a walking legend.

Although a launch date hasn't been confirmed, publisher Activision has said that the Destiny release date won't fall in 2013.
