Nintendo has confirmed it will release a handful of new Wii U related products in the coming months.
Currently only confirmed for a Japan release, the products include a white Premium Wii U, marking the first availability of a 32GB Wii U in white.
A new battery for the GamePad has also been confirmed, which promises a running time of between five and eight hours.
Meanwhile, an official charger set has also been confirmed, packaging a battery pack, charging dock, WiiMote wrapper and strap.
The company also confirmed an edition of Nintendo Land bundled with a blue or pink WiiMote. The products are detailed (in Japanese) on the official Nintendo Japan website. There's been no word as yet regarding Western releases for these products.
It's possible that these new packages will be detailed during the company's next Nintendo Direct presentation, which will air on June 11. The E3 event will also feature a 3D Mario game and Super Smash Bros.
CVG understands Nintendo is preparing a significant global marketing campaign for Wii U this summer, spearheaded by the planned release of several high profile first-party games, including Pikmin 3, Platinum's The Wonderful 101 and a new Mario Kart.
The marketing campaign will commence at E3 next month, where the 3D Mario game will also be playable on the show floor. The title will be released before October, pending development delays.
Shelly Pearce, the PR director at Nintendo UK, told CVG this month: "From July onwards we will launch a succession of Wii U titles and we will promote these extensively until the end of the year. Marketing activity will include TV, print, online and PR as well as comprehensive experiential and social media campaigns".
She added: "We have a strong line up planned for Wii U in the second half of 2013 including the likes of Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Wii U.
"We are looking forward to launching these in the UK and for the opportunity to showcase the full potential of Wii U."
