Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number spotted at E3

Developer tweets a photo of the title screen

Hotline Miami 2 has made a surprise appearance at E3, though its exact whereabouts remain a mystery.

The following tweet was posted on the official Hotline Miami twitter feed:

Another tweet followed shortly afterward, showing a member of the Humble Indie Bundle team seemingly playing the game.

Development studio Dennaton Games and the game's designer Jonatan Söderström have been tight-lipped about the sequel to the cult PC hit, but it was revealed last year that a sequel was in the works.

In November 2012 Söderström announced on his personal Twitter account that he was: "Working while listening to the sweet tunes of a preliminary Hotline Miami 2 soundtrack that we've put together during the weekend".

Hotline Miami is a hyper violent action game based on 1980s culture. It will soon be coming to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

The PlayStation version will be handled by Dutch studio Abstraction Games under the guidance of Dennaton Games. It will be released as a downloadable title on the PlayStation Network and support Cross-Buy, allowing gamers to play both the PS3 and Vita version with a single purchase.
