Fable 3 is free to Xbox Live Gold subs now

Microsoft offers gift to subscribers, available until June 30

Microsoft is offering Xbox Live Golf subscribers a free copy of Fable 3 as thanks for their custom.

The adventure game from Peter Molynuex (as former head of developer Lionhead Studios) is available to download free of charge via the Xbox Live Marketplace.

This kicks off a new XBL Gold subscriber promotion in 2013, for which Microsoft will offer two free Xbox 360 games to Gold subscribers each month for the rest of the year.

While MS has held off announcing a full line-up titles to be offered, it has confirmed that the promotion will include popular titles such as Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed 2.

Games downloaded as part of this promotion are added to users' permanent games collection "no matter what", confirmed Microsoft.

The platform holder revealed - and released - a new "smaller, sleeker" Xbox 360 model during E3 last week, designed to "resemble the Xbox One brand elements". It costs $199.99 for the 4GB console, $299.99 for the 250GB edition and $299.99 for the 4GB Kinect Bundle.
