Capcom has released a new Lost Planet 3 gameplay trailer.
The two-minute video shows Jim Peyton, protagonist in Spark Unlimited's prequel, battling a giant monster using a Rig, a mechanical suit used to traverse hostile conditions and squash aliens.
In April, Capcom delayed the Lost Planet 3 release date from late June to August 27 in North America and August 30 in Europe. A Capcom Europe representative cited unspecified "business reasons" for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC title's slip. The same month, the publisher released Lost Planet 3 trailers showing off a range of pre-order DLC.
In May, Capcom published sales guidance for its biggest releases of the current business year. Lost Planet 3 sales are forecast to hit 1.2 million units in the 12 months ending April 2014.
Capcom also axed multiple internal projects and suggested it will no longer pursue overseas developer partnerships in a bid to boost game quality and ultimately sales.
We said in our most recent Lost Planet 3 preview: "Like it or not, Lost Planet has changed. The influence of Western design is palpable, and it doesn't really feel like the first two games. There are a lot of influences in here: the level hubs and backtracking of the Arkham series, the pop-up holographic menus and everyman hero of Dead Space, and pretty much any modern cover shooter you care to mention. It doesn't seem to have much of an identity of its own, which could be a problem in the overcrowded shooter market."
