Nintendo president: More unannounced Wii U titles planned for 2014

Iwata claims "there was more info than could be released at E3"

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has revealed in an investors meeting that there are more Wii U games planned for 2014 than what was mentioned at E3.

Iwata has said that Nintendo never planned to show all of the titles it has in development during E3 last month.

"There are more unannounced Wii U titles coming by 2014," he said, as translated by Cheesemeister. "There was more info than could be released at E3. Wanted to ease owners' fears..."

Iwata then goes on to explain that Nintendo doesn't want to "leave a long gap between announcement/release of new game types that would lessen the impact or allow competitors to copy."

While there is no indication as to what these unannounced titles could be, there have been discussions on what Zelda on Wii U will include.

Several Wii U games are set for release this year, including Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Pikmin 3 and Super Mario 3D World. Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2 and Super Smash Bros. are expected in 2014.

Third party support has been questionable, but Ubisoft claims to remain "big supporters" of the console.
