Warner Bros. has announced a Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure release date of September 24, 2013 in the US.
The game's story will see players guiding Maxwell and his sister Lilly through a series of DC locations including Gotham City, Metropolis and Atlantis, with each level featuring procedurally-generated quests.
Maxwell must use his magic notebook to solve problems and put a stop to various villains' evil schemes, which will boost the player's Reputation and advance the narrative.
The 5th Cell developed game is set to include a vast amount of DC Comics characters, while players will be able to write into existence over 2,000 DC objects. They'll also be able to create their own characters and assign them powers.
European Wii U and 3DS owners are still awaiting the release of Scribblenauts Unlimited. The US Wii U launch game suffered a last-minute delay in February 2013, when European publisher Nintendo pushed it back to an unspecified launch date.
The platform holder explained at the time: "It has come to light that some changes need to be implemented within the game before we launch them across Europe. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and we hope to make further announcements on the European launch of these games very soon."
