The levels will be immediately accessible and won't need to be played to complete the new game, Rayman creator and Beyond Good & Evil designer Michel Ancel told Joystiq.
The stages, which include a few Tricky Treasure runs, have been graphically updated to match the style of Legends, according to the site.
Football-themed mini-game Kung Foot will also make the final game. Check it out in action in the video below.
Ancel said this week that Microsoft's Xbox Smartglass system is not responsive enough to port Rayman Legends' two-screen Wii U gameplay to Xbox 360. But he also criticised Nintendo's use of the stylus-reliant resistive screen tech, as opposed to the finger-friendly capacitive tech used in modern smartphones and tablets.
Rayman Legends was originally due to launch in February as a Wii U exclusive, but was delayed to allow for a multiplatform release.
