DICE has revealed the next version of its Battlelog service, which has been designed for Battlefield 4.
Battlelog assistant producer Jesper Nielsen says of the updated social and stat-tracking service: "[With] Battlelog for Battlefield 4, what we've done is really try to expand the service to be super integral to the game experience itself, more than something just a PC gamer can enjoy."
Battlelog producer Oskar Gabrielson adds: "They have their smartphones, their tablets, their computers next to them while they're playing, and we want to create a Battlefield that can incorporate all of these devices in the experience."
Among other features, you'll be able to configure loadouts and find the server you want to play on using mobile devices. You'll also be able to use a tablet as a second screen to display the in-game map and set attack points which will be flagged up in the game.
"With Battlelog you'll get a deeper, richer Battlefield 4 experience," Gabrielson says.
EA has confirmed a Battlefield 4 release date of October 29 in the US and November 1 in the UK on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Next-gen versions will be out "this holiday".
