Video: FEAR Online free-to-play shooter announced

FEAR Online, a free-to-play shooter based on the psychological horror franchise, is scheduled to arrive on PC later this year.

Developed by Korean studio Inplay Interactive and published by Aeria Games, FEAR Online focuses on team combat, with several modes taking place over ten maps.

The game will also "[further] the dark and ominous story surrounding Alma Wade", and will let players choose between the FEAR team and Armacham.

Both co-operative and competitive multiplayer modes will be featured, including the Soul King mode from FEAR 3.

Interested players can sign up for the FEAR Online beta.

The last major game in the series, FEAR 3, was released in June 2011 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
