A new Mortal Kombat game is in development, if comments by Mortal Kombat Legacy producer Lance Sloane are accurate.
Speaking at San Diego Comic Con 2013, Sloane discussed the possibility of a new Mortal Kombat film, but also let slip that a new game is in development.
"We've been in greenlight committee for a while at the studio and we've got a great script," Sloane told GamerHub.TV. "And we've got a great director with Kevin Tancharoen, who is on board.
"It's just figuring out the business side of it and when we would do it and when we would launch it and how do we sync up with the launch of the game that they're working on now. It's not 100 per cent yet, but we're getting closer every day."
Mortal Kombat was originally release in 2011 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, followed by a PC release in May this year.
NetherRealm Studios creative director Ed Boon told CVG last year that a new Mortal Kombat is set for next generation systems.
"We definitely want to do something new with it, we feel we have to introduce something into the mix," he said.
