Season Pass holders for participating cross-gen games will be able to download all the available DLC content on both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions of the same game, Microsoft has revealed.
Dubbed the 'Season Pass Guarantee', the program means customers can purchase a Season Pass for a current-generation version of a game, and transfer that Season Pass over if they buy the Xbox One and the corresponding game for that system.
The platform holder has confirmed that Activision, Electronic Arts and Ubisoft are among the publishers that have already signed up for the program, and more specifically that Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4 will both be participating titles.
"Season Pass Guarantee makes transitioning from Xbox 360 to Xbox One an easier and smoother process, so you don't have to worry about which console you're playing games on or repurchasing your existing add-ons on Xbox One," said Microsoft.
Microsoft announced on Wednesday its decision to delay the Xbox One launch date to 2014 across eight countries, including Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland.
The US and UK launches were reaffirmed for November 2013.
