Microsoft is set to continue its partnership with Minecraft studio Mojang with the release of Cobalt on Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Cobalt, an alpha version of which is available to play now on PC, is Mojang's first 3rd party published game and "features a multiplayer mode with up to eight players that lets you punch rockets and deflect bullets to win the day."
"Players can slide, climb, roll and jump smoothly through levels whilst shooting and deflecting projectiles back at enemies. Bullet time enhances the excitement and intensity of gameplay as players strive to master the intricate timing of combat and maintain momentum in the smooth platforming experience."
Cobalt is developed by Oxeye Game Studio, which has been developing the title for over a year and a half.
At E3 Microsoft announced a new version of Minecraft will be released for Xbox One. A trailer shown at the event promised "bigger worlds" and "more multiplayer".
