Long delayed PS3 exclusive The Last Guardian is still in development, SCE Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida has told CVG.
The Last Guardian was first announced for PS3 at E3 2009, but little has been seen of the Team Ico project since.
Asked about the game's status in an interview at Gamescom this week, PlayStation development boss Yoshida told CVG: "Yeah we are still making it... So we are still waiting for the right time to announce it. To re-announce it."
And asked if the game will now release on PS4 rather than PS3, Yoshida replied: "So, we have decided not to discuss this yet."
The Last Guardian was originally planned for release in 2011, but was delayed "to provide more challenging and better quality of content to users", according to then-Team Ico boss Fumito Ueda, who later left Sony but remains attached to the project as a producer.
In an interview with Famitsu this week, translated by Polygon, Ueda said of The Last Guardian: "It's under earnest development. However, SCE Japan Studio, who's working on The Last Guardian, also has titles like Puppeteer and Knack, and those are only the ones currently announced. Those are taking priority right now."
