BioWare 'undecided' on Dragon Age Inquisition multiplayer

Studio still unsure whether to go beyond single-player adventure

It hasn't yet been decided whether Dragon Age: Inquisition will feature multiplayer gameplay, according to the game's producer.

In an interview with Official Xbox Magazine, Cameron Lee was asked about rumours that Inquisition would feature a multiplayer mode as well as the main single-player adventure.

"The Mass Effect multiplayer stuff was really good, so we've certainly looked at options like that," he replied, "but we haven't decided on anything in terms of multiplayer at this point."

BioWare recently showed off the first Dragon Age: Inquisition gameplay footage.

At E3 2013, BioWare's Aaryn Flynn took to the stage during EA's press conference to talk up "the next-generation of RPGs" Dragon Age 3 will usher in. According to Flynn, the sequel will feature a "vast open world" and "choices that impact the story and the world around you".

Dragon Age: Inquisition and the next Mass Effect are both powered by DICE's Frostbite 3 engine. BioWare Montreal studio director Yanick Roy has said that both games will share 'core systems'.

BioWare has confirmed that the Dragon Age 3: Inquisition release date will fall in autumn 2014.
