Bugbear Entertainment's provisionally titled Next Car Game has been added to the Steam Greenlight page where it is currently awaiting votes.
The Finnish studio was previously responsible for the first three games in the FlatOut series (FlatOut, FlatOut 2, FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage) and more recently Ridge Racer: Unbounded.
The studio has already invested $1 million into the game and it's set for release on PC in early 2014, but now players can vote for it to be added to Steam too.
According to the studio, Next Car Game will bring back "the over-the-top, reckless racing action of the FlatOut series" and "the ferocious wrecking fests of the Destruction Derby games".
"We can't wait to show you what we can do with today's hardware," a statement on the company's site reads. "Now we have fully dynamic visual car damage (no predefined damage models!), and the environments are more destructible than ever before."
Although Next Car Game will be released in early spring 2014 regardless, the studio is accepting pre-orders now, and will use the money to improve the game further and potentially release it on consoles.
All pre-order customers will get access to an early version of the game later this year, and will be able to give advice and feedback to the team.
If the project hits 10,000 pre-orders, Bugbear will release a "playable sneak peek" of the game for all pre-order customers.
