FIFA 14 demo available today

UPDATE: Now up for download on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3

A playable demo of FIFA 14 will be released today on consoles and PC.

The demo features eight teams; Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, Boca Juniors, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and New York Red Bulls.

In a recent tweet, EA explained that the demo rosters were submitted before transfer deadline day and as such will seem slightly out-of-date. Expect to see, for example, Mamadou Sakho still at PSG even though he's since gone to Liverpool.

The PC version of the demo is already available, and can be found on the Origin store (choose the "try before you buy" option to download it).

As for console versions, the Xbox 360 demo is due to appear on Xbox Live shortly ("between 10am and 2pm UK time", EA says). PlayStation 3 owners, meanwhile, will have to wait a little while longer - it should be appearing between 1am and 3am UK time on Wednesday morning. [UPDATE: The demo is now live on Xbox 360 and PS3.]

The list of FIFA 14 achievements was revealed last week, and EA recently unveiled its FIFA 14 TV trailer.

The FIFA 14 release date is September 24 in North America and September 27 throughout Europe. Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game will be available when the consoles launch in November.

Some pre-ordered Xbox One consoles will come with a free digital copy of FIFA 14.
