BioWare co-founder Ray Muzyka will give the opening keynote at this year's 10th annual Montreal International Game Summit, it was confirmed today.
In the keynote, titled 'Best Practices in Leadership and Communication', Muzyka will share business expertise gleaned from his experiences as head of Mass Effect and Star Wars: The Old Republic developer BioWare.
"The interactive entertainment and technology industries have evolved spectacularly over the past decade," said Muzyka ahead of the event. "Their pace of change remains high, which makes it even more challenging for entrepreneurs to succeed, but sharing best practices can help.
"I was privileged to be the first speaker at the first MIGS conference ten years ago, and I'm excited and honored to be asked to keynote the Montreal International Game Summit again this year."
BioWare's co-founders Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka announced their departure from the studio and retirement from the games industry entirely back in September 2012.
"This has been an incredibly difficult decision to make; after thinking about it for many months, I made the decision to retire from videogames back in early April 2012," said Muzyka in a blog post at the time.
MIGS 2013 will take place at the Palais des congrès de Montréal, 5th floor, on November 11-12.
