Disney Interactive sold around 294,000 copies of the Disney Infinity Starter Pack in its first two weeks on sale in US, claims a company rep.
The game arrived in US on August 18 for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, Wii, PC and 3DS, and the publisher says it's "off to a strong start".
"Disney Infinity sales are off to a strong start, selling 294,000 starter pack units in the US during the last two weeks of August," a company rep told Games Industry.
"We're very pleased with the launch in both the US and globally, and believe Disney Infinity is well-positioned for the critical holiday sales season."
The rep offered no data on how that figure breaks down by platform.
Disney CFO Jay Rasulo told attendees of the 2013 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference last week that the game's sales were tracking "on par" with Skylanders Giants, the latest game in the Activision franchise.
"Our sales have been on par with that even though we launched in August and they do theirs in September or October," he said, according to Polygon. "We're on that scale, maybe better," he added, without offering any specific figures.
In CVG's Disney Infinity review we said: "Add-on costs aside, Disney Infinity is a treat. It is blanketed with ideas and Disney references that will keep older and younger gamers busy for far longer than the more linear Skylanders could, and while the Toy Box mode isn't exactly going to have Minecraft shaking in its cuboid boots, its sillier nature (does Minecraft have a toilet paper gun?) makes it just as entertaining at times."
Disney Infinity is due out on PC in October.
