Pokémon X & Y: Treasure hunt promotion announced ahead of October release

"Gotta catch 'em all" promotion open only to US residents

To celebrate the release of Pokémon X & Y, the Pokémon Company has re-launched its "Gotta Catch 'Em All" promotion with a treasure hunt open only to US citizens.

The "Gotta Catch 'Em All" promotion will run for four weeks, with new clues and challenges arriving each week. Once participants have located the codes hidden in videos and across the internet, they will need to enter it over at the official site to proceed with the hunt.

The first clue can be found in the new Catchatronic music video uploaded onto the Pokémon YouTube channel overnight.

Each code entered will unlock a virtual Poké Ball revealing a digital gift, a Pokémon and a chance to win one of the prizes.

The range of prizes up for grabs has been outlined by NintendoLife:

  • Nintendo 3DS console
  • Nine Pokémon trading cards and figure box
  • 20 Pokémon Black and White 2 Official Pokédex and guide
  • 16 Pokémon plush toys
  • Four Pokémon X game download codes
  • Four Pokémon Y game download codes

The competition will end on the global release date for Pokémon X & Y, October 12.

Pokémon X & Y will see the return of the first generation starters, as well as the introduction of the Pokémon Bank, a paid service to store up to 3000 Pokémon online.
