Far Cry 3 goes free in Europe via PlayStation Plus

PS Vita owners offered Street Fighter X Tekken

The PS3 version Far Cry 3 will be free for those with a European PlayStation Plus account, Sony has announced.

As part of the PS Plus 'Instant Game Collection', Ubisoft's acclaimed 2012 shooter will be free for subscribers from September 25 for a whole month. The game usually costs £20 to download on the PSN Store.

Subscribers will be given two other free PS3 games; the cult platformer Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, as well as Capcom's fantasy RPG Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen.

Meanwhile, PS Plus subscribers who own a PS Vita will be able to download Street Fighter X Tekken as well as Touch My Katamari.

(In the US, PS Plus subscribers are offered a different package of deals, including GTA Vice City Stories and a HD version of Ico).

PS Plus free games are rotated every month, though once downloaded can be played for as long as a customer holds a subscription.
