A video game based on summer blockbuster Kick-Ass 2 is set for release this November.
Published by German outfit UIG Entertainment and developed by Freedom Factory Studios, Kick-Ass 2 lets players step into the costumes of Kick-Ass and Hit Girl as they attempt to put an end to the Motherf*cker.
The Kick-Ass 2 movie hit cinemas in August this year and starred Aaron Taylor-Johnson, ChloŽ Grace Moretz and Jim Carrey. Although it received mixed reviews among film critics (scoring 41% on Metacritic) it was popular among filmgoers, earning it 7/10 on IMDb.
According to UIG, Kick-Ass 2 offers "classic beat 'em up gameplay" with contextual kills and finishing moves.
An XP system and ability upgrades also feature, in addition to a "wide range" of melee weapons that can be picked up and used in combat.
DLC is also planned, though UIG has provided no further information about additional content.
Kick-Ass 2 will be coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in November 2013.
A game based on the first Kick-Ass was released on PlayStation Network in May 2010.
