Warner Bros. has announced an iOS and Android edition of Batman: Arkham Origins, which will offer a different gameplay style to the console and handheld versions.

Like Injustice, the mobile and tablet game is a 3D brawler. It will boast RPG elements, an array of distinct outfits and unlocks which will affect the core console title.

Connecting the iOS or Android version with the console versions will reward the player with a Red Son Batman suit.

Batman: Arkham Origins will release for Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Wii U on October 25. The Wii U version will come with a lower recommended retail price due to its lack of a multiplayer component.

Following a recent hands-on session with the console version, CVG's Tamoor Hussain wrote that "Origins looks to be taking what made Arkham City an exemplary open-world action game and re-presenting it in a deft way".

In addition to the console and mobile versions, a 3DS and Vita game will also release in the form of Blackgate, a 2.5D platformer developed by Armature. It will also release on October 25.
