Plants vs. Zombies 2 now available on Android

Popular tower defense title no longer Apple exclusive

Plants vs. Zombies 2 is now available on Android, following its international release on iOS devices in August.

The popular sequel soft-launched for Android in Australia and New Zealand earlier this month, but is now available to international users.

The release follows a controversy surrounding the title's delay on Android. In September, reports emerged that EA head of labels Frank Gibeau had said that "Apple gave us [EA] a truckload of money to delay the Android version [of Plants vs. Zombies 2]."

Apple denied the claims, while EA later made a statement claiming the quote had been "taken out of context".

The popular mobile series will make its console debut as a cooperative third-person shooter next year. Entitled Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare, it will launch for PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Xbox One.
