Capcom is working on a new fighting game

Publisher seeking a designer and programmer to join the project

Capcom is recruiting a game designer to join either its Osaka or Tokyo studio to work on a new fighting game.

The news was revealed by Yoshinori Ono, executive producer on the Street Fighter series and deputy head of the publisher's consumer games R&D division, in a series of updates posted on Twitter.

Although he declined to offer any concrete information, Ono hinted that the mysterious project would be for next-gen consoles.

Ono is currently working on Deep Down, a PS4 exclusive online RPG developed in collaboration with SCE Japan Studio.

The game is set in New York City in the year 2094, but gameplay footage released to date has shown players travelling back in time to command armour-wearing warriors tackling monsters and dragons in procedurally-generated dungeons.

Deep Down will be free-to-play and support up to four players in co-op multilayer.
