A potential sequel to Titanfall may release for PlayStation 4, according to studio co-founder Vince Zampella.
Following earlier reports that Titanfall will remain exclusive to Xbox and PC, Zampella has responded to fan queries regarding the studio's freedom to develop for other platforms.
When asked on Twitter whether Respawn will ever develop a game for the PS4, Zampella responded: "Of course we will, just not the first Titanfall."
While those planning to purchase the PS4 previously held hope that Titanfall was only a timed exclusive for Microsoft, publisher Electronic Arts confirmed this week that the game will never release on Sony's consoles.
According to Zampella's comments though, a Sony release for any Titanfall sequels is not out of the question.
EA labels president Frank Gibeau said at E3 this year that Titanfall's Microsoft exclusivity was a "tactical opportunity" for the two companies.
"It's a product that came in through our EA Partners group, it's a partnership with Respawn, and there was an opportunity for Microsoft, EA and Respawn to create a tactical opportunity to make Titanfall exclusive to Microsoft," he said.
Titanfall will release for Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC on March 11 in the US and March 13 in Europe and Australia.
