Nintendo has trademarked a new game title 'Great Detective Pikachu', according to reports.
The trademark, filed in October and published November 7 according to online translations, is likely linked to a new Pokemon spin-off detective game revealed in Japan in late October.
Although very little is known of the game, Pokemon Company CEO Tsunekaz Ishihara reportedly showcased the title during a Japanese TV programme called The Professionals.
It is said to cast the player as a detective who will be aided throughout by Pokemon star Pikachu.
Nintendo released Pokemon X & Y earlier this month to widespread critical acclaim. The title sold more than four million units in its first release weekend worldwide, the company reported.
