Sony investigating PS4 online gaming issues

Multiple users report being unable to access online gameplay

Sony says it's investigating a growing number of cases of PS4 players being locked out of online games in titles including Killzone Shadow Fall, Call of Duty Ghosts and Battlefield 4.

Affected users receive an error message warning them that they require a PlayStation Plus subscription to play online.

PlayStation Europe community manager Chris Owen said on Twitter today:

The official Killzone Twitter account also said the problem was unrelated to upcoming PSN maintenance.

Sony's European arm will carry out PSN maintenance today for eight hours beginning at 4pm. In the US, the PSN maintenance will run from 9am to 2pm Pacific Time (12pm to 5pm Eastern).

During the downtime, online gameplay and app access should be available to users who have recently signed into their PSN account and have their authentication details cached. PS Store, PS Home and Account Management services will be unavailable.
