The 2015 Ford Mustang has been added to Need For Speed Rivals as part of a free downloadable patch.
The 2015 Mustang was only revealed by Ford on December 5, but the car manufacturer had been working secretly with EA to get an in-game version of it ready for download shortly after the announcement.
"We worked closely with EA to provide engineering data for the new Mustang, several months before we showed it to the rest world, said Mark Bentley of Ford in a statement on the Need For Speed website. "The computer design models enabled the game developers to create an accurate representation of the new Mustang."
The 2015 Mustang doesn't go into production until late 2014, meaning this is the closest most car enthusiasts will get to driving the car for now.
As EA has not yet released an official changelog, it remains to be seen whether the patch improves the game in other ways.
In CVG's Need For Speed Rivals review, our reviewer said: "Rivals is gorgeous, invigorating, progressive and anything but a makeweight in the next-gen launch line-up. It's the strongest NFS in an age and a cheeky right-hook to the jaw of the likes of Forza Horizon, Gran Turismo and Grid 2."
