The multiplayer mode in PS4 shooter Killzone: Shadow Fall will essentially go free-to-play during a short trial period over Christmas.
A 'Trial' version of the game, which will be released for pre-loading from tomorrow, December 17, will let US PlayStation Plus subscribers try the game's multiplayer mode for free over a four-day period.
The trial period takes place from December 28-31 and will be exclusive to PS Plus subs. Exact start and end times are yet to be specified.
Sony is also yet to specify the contents of the trial, and whether or not the entire multiplayer mode will be included is unclear.
Killzone: Shadow Fall was a PS4 launch-day title and the fourth game (excluding portable entries) in Guerrilla Games' flagship PlayStation-exclusive FPS series.
In CVG's Killzone: Shadow Fall review, critic Steve Boxer says the game "doesn't seek to reinvent the FPS, but it does inject a much-needed infusion of creativity and originality into the genre".
