Mega Man X and Dr. Wily's Revenge on sale for $2 on US eShop

Nintendo begins '2 Games, 2 Dollars each, 2 Days' promotion

Mega Man X and Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge are on sale for $2 on Nintendo eShop through Dec. 18 at 8:59 am PST, Nintendo announced today.

Mega Man X, which launched on SNES in 1993, is normally available on Wii U for $7.99, and Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge, a 1991-released Game Boy classic, usually goes for $3.99 on 3DS.

Nintendo is promoting the discounts as "2 Games, 2 Dollars each, 2 Days," implying that more eShop selections will replace it after the deal expires. Nintendo offered discounts on several Mega Man games as part of an unrelated promotion in November.

Wii U and 3DS grew closer last week when Nintendo released an update for the portable system, allowing it access to Miiverse and to link up with a Nintendo Network ID. Users can now share their eShop account balance across both systems.

Nintendo sold around 220,000 Wii U units in US in November, according to NPD figures - a disappointing result for the peak buying season. Conversely, strong sales of the Nintendo 3DS during the same period pushed lifetime sales of the 3DS family up to around 10.5 million units.
