Namco Bandai has released a live-action Dark Souls 2 trailer.
The video is highly indicative of the Dark Souls gaming experience: namely it features a character gingerly creeping through the dark, counting his blessings that he isn't being mauled to death after each step. That is until, out of the darkness, a blade appears and it's game over.
At E3 we went hands-on with the From Software developed sequel: "Let's make one thing clear straight away, in case you're still anxious: Dark Souls 2 is very, very difficult," we said in our Dark Souls 2 preview.
But according to producer Yui Tanimura, "the goal isn't to make Dark Souls 2 more difficult, just more rewarding."
The Dark Souls 2 release date on PS3 and Xbox 360 is March 11, 2014 in North America and March 14 in Australia and Europe. A PC edition of the game will follow "shortly" after. Namco has announced a range of UK Dark Souls 2 pre-order incentives.
