Bethesda has pledged to return the Fallout series to the digital distribution services that lost it over the Christmas break.
Steam and GoG were among the digital stores from which Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics were recently pulled.
Speaking in response to fan questioning via Twitter, Bethesda has said it's working on restoring the game to Steam "at the earliest possible date".
"We're working to return classic Fallout games (1, 2, Tactics) to Steam and will provide an update when they're ready to go," said the publisher, which secured the rights to the IP from Interplay in 2012.
"Our priority right now is returning the games to Steam at the earliest date possible," it added in response to queries over GoG.
