CoD: Ghosts, Battlefield 4 top US PS4 downloads in December

FIFA 14 tops PS4 downloads in UK, Minecraft dominates PS3

Despite a turbulent launch, Battlefield 4 was the most purchased PS4 game via the digital PlayStation Store in US in December.

The ongoing furor over the game's gameplay and server instability issues didn't put gamers off snapping up the game in digital form throughout the Christmas month.

Factoring in PS3-to-PS4 'Digital Upgrade' downloads places Call of Duty: Ghosts on top, with BF4 in second. Without those upgrades - i.e. when only counting games purchased in full on PS4 - CoD: Ghosts comes in fifth below Flower, NBA 2K14 and Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag (in chart order from 2nd to 4th).

FIFA 14 topped PS4 downloads in UK, with Battlefield 4 coming second, and ACIV, Need for Speed Rivals and Call of Duty: Ghosts respectively rounding out the top-five.

The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season led Vita downloads in the UK, only managing 10th in the US chart where Terraria prevailed.

Meanwhile PS3 gamers in both regions helped Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition top downloads on the last-gen console.
