Kojima shows Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes Vita remote play

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes supports Vita remote play, Hideo Kojima has confirmed.

Series creator Kojima used his Twitter account to post a series of pictures showing the game running on Sony's handheld.

"This is not "TRANSFARRING" but remote play," he said. "By using PS4 as family cloud environment, you can play it outside. Finally!"

A prologue to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Ground Zeroes will act as a bridge between the linearity of existing series entries and the open-world environments of the upcoming fifth instalment.

Kojima has said MGSV will be darker in tone than previous entries in the franchise, exploring "some very heavy subjects such as race and revenge". The Entertainment Software Rating Board has recently classified Ground Zeroes as Mature.

Publisher Konami has confirmed a Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes release date of March 18. Boxed PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Ground Zeroes will cost £29.99/€29.99, while digital versions will be priced at £19.99/€19.99. PS4 and Xbox One digital versions will cost £29.99/€29.99.
