Lara Croft Guardian of Light goes free on Xbox Live Gold

Downloadable title replaces Sleeping Dogs as free download for Live subscribers

Xbox Live Gold subscribers can now download Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light for free as part of Microsoft's Games with Gold promotion.

Released in August 2010, the downloadable title is regularly priced at £9.99 / $14.99. In our Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light review, we called the game "a retro-inspired shooter that's small in scale but big in entertainment".

Guardian of Light replaces Sleeping Dogs, which was a free Games with Gold download during the first half of January.

Announced at E3 in June 2013, Games with Gold gives XBLG subscribers two free games to keep each month, with a new title made available on the 1st and 16th of each month.

While it was originally announced as a limited time campaign, Microsoft said in October that Games with Gold would be an "ongoing benefit" with no end date planned.

In November, the platform holder also revealed plans to launch Games with Gold on Xbox One in 2014.
