Pokémon X & Y Global Link tournament set for February

The first to include Kalos region Pokémon

The first Pokémon Global Link tournament to include Kalos region Pokémon is scheduled to begin February 21.

The Pokémon X & Y Global Link online tournament is a global event, open to trainers of any skill level.

The competition is the first to allow Kalos region Pokémon and is set to start February 21, midnight UTC.

Invitations to the tournament were already sent out to those who qualified by ranking in the Global Showdown, and registered their games to existing Pokémon Global Link accounts.

Those who didn't receive an invite can register on January 31st through the Pokémon Global Link website. A complete list of regulations will also be listed at that time.

Last week Nintendo announced that Pokémon Bank was back online for Japan and other Asian territories, but the app is still being prepared for launch in Europe and other territories.

The Pokémon Bank allows players to store up to 3,000 Pokémon in the cloud for a yearly fee of $5, while also allowing Pokémon from Pokémon Black and White versions 1 and 2 to be imported using Pokémon transporter. A trailer released in December explains Pokémon Bank.
