Actor and comedian Peter Serafinowicz is among the voice talent to feature in Dark Souls 2, Namco Bandai has announced.
Serafinowicz has previously starred as the voice of Darth Maul in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, and has appeared in comedies including Shaun of the Dead, Parks and Recreation and South Park.
His character is the 'mild-mannered' Pate, who is described as a mysterious and 'enigmatic' treasure hunter who can teach the player survival tactics.
A long time fan of the series, Serafinowicz says "Dark Souls is the most engrossing game I've ever played. For me, it's the best game of all time."
Dark Souls 2 will release for PS3 and Xbox 360 on March 11 in North America and March 14 in Europe and Australia. A PC edition will follow shortly after.
Pressed on the possibility of a next-gen port of Dark Souls 2, co-director Yui Tanimura said the studio had not yet considered it.
Meanwhile, representatives from From Software have confirmed there are no plans to release post-launch DLC for the title.
A video released earlier today shows nine minutes of direct feed Dark Souls 2 gameplay footage.
