PES 2015 co-developed in the UK to enhance authenticity

Konami: "We know what's been going wrong with PES, we are working on that"

The upcoming PES 2015 is being co-developed by a new UK studio, in order to make the game more appealing to a European audience.

Speaking to MCV, Konami Europe boss Shinji Hirano revealed that the game, currently planned for PlayStation 4 but not yet announced for Xbox One, is being partly handled by a British development team for the first time.

"I can't say certain things about PES 2015, but we are ready to make a comeback," Hirano said.

"I cannot give details on exactly what we are doing with the UK studio, but they are working on the next project and looking at the needs of the European people. It's about globalising the franchise, so it is not just being developed by Japanese people."

"We know what's been going wrong with PES, we are working on that. The next version is totally changed. 2014 is a transitional year for the franchise, so expect big things."

CVG broke the news that Konami was setting up a new London studio for PES development back in July 2012, though Konami declined to comment on this at the time.

The company recently confirmed that PES 2015 would be coming to PlayStation 4, but has yet to clarify whether it will also be released on Xbox One.

In CVG's PES 2014 review, we concluded: "A fresh foundation for the series. PES 2014 has its issues, but still manages to deliver a deep and satisfying game of football."
