The core story of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is completable on a first play through in "less than two hours".
That's according to Game Informer, which features a hands-on report in its latest issue.
"Judged just by the core story mission, Ground Zeroes is short," says the magazine (via Kotaku). "We completed it in just less than two hours," it said, although it notes this is without having covered all of the game's side-missions and bonus features.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is a standalone game that serves as a prelude to full sequel Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
Ground Zeroes is said to serve as an introduction to the open world gameplay and systems that form the core of the full-blown sequel.
At £19.99/€19.99 for digital copies on PS3 and Xbox 360, or £29.99/€29.99 at retail (and £29.99/€29.99 for either version on PS4 and Xbox One), it was expected that Ground Zeroes would be a smaller offering than a typical full MGS game, but two hours may fall even shorter than many anticipated.
Konami and Kojima Productions in November released a 12-minute gameplay video of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes running on PS4.
The Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes release date is set for March 18.
