Far Cry Classic, a remake of the first game in the series, has finally been official confirmed for release in North America.
The remake, which promises enhanced graphics, "revamped" cutscenes and a new interface, will be released for both Xbox 360 and PS3 in US on February 11 for $9.99.
Ubisoft's handling of its Far Cry re-releases has been less than intuitive. Far Cry Classic was previously announced for an EU release as part of a Far Cry compilation titled 'Far Cry Wild Expeditions', which also contains Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon. The EU offering is coming to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
A similar compilation was also announced for the US market, but the stateside version, simply titled 'Far Cry Compilation', is oddly missing the original Far Cry Classic, and was only announced for a PS3 release.
A Ubisoft spokesperson told CVG the firm has no current plans to release the North American compilation for Xbox 360 and PC.
The US Far Cry Compilation will be released on February 11 priced at $39.99. The EU-only Far Cry Wild Expeditions is out on February 14.
