EA has released a developer diary video showing off the detailed character models in EA Sports UFC.
The video, the first in a collection of 'Gameplay Series' clips detailing the making of the game, explains the processes EA used to capture the likenesses of UFC fighters and convert these to detailed character models.
It also shows some of the motion capture techniques utilised to create each fighter's unique pre-fight rituals and fighting styles.
According to the developer, all footage shown is taken from the actual game running on PS4 and Xbox One.
Fight Night studio EA Canada is developing EA's first UFC game. The development team is led by action sports general manager Dean Richards (Fight Night, NHL, SSX) and creative director Brian Hayes, who was in charge of gameplay design on Fight Night Round 4 and Fight Night Champion.
EA Sports UFC recently entered the alpha stage of development and is on course to release in spring 2014 on Xbox One and PS4.
