Electronic Arts has confirmed that Battlefield 4's Second Assault expansion DLC will arrive on February 18 for all Battlefield Premium members.
The pack will be made available simultaneously across PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, and Xbox 360. It arrived first on Xbox One as a timed exclusive in November. Second Assault adds four Battlefield 3 maps to the game, rebuilt and reconfigured for Battlefield 4's new engine and gameplay modes.
Electronic Arts also announced that Premium members will be able to download the game's third expansion, Battlefield 4: Naval Strike, starting in late March. Naval Strike adds four new sea-focused maps and similarly themed weapons, vehicles, and gadgetry. The last two packs will be titled Dragon's Teeth and Final Stand.
Five DLC packs are planned for Battlefield 4, though the release schedule was delayed when developer DICE diverted all of its development resources to stabilizing Battlefield 4 after a bug-ridden launch.
The news confirms an alleged Origin leak that listed a February 18 launch for Second Assault.
Reports have claimed California studio Visceral is developing the latest installment in the Battlefield series, with a release date planned for 2014. The game, code-named Havana, is rumored to be a police-themed Battlefield title. Aside from its suggested 2014 release date, there were no further details on the rumoured title.
