Punch-Out!! hero Little Mac has been confirmed as the newest fighter to join the Smash Bros. 4.
A new trailer was shown during the latest Nintendo Direct broadcast, during which Little Mac was confirmed. The trailer, which you can watch below, shows Little Mac will have a smash attack that becomes stronger as a power meter builds up.
This is in addition to the usual arsenal of boxing punches, including an uppercut, a flurry of jabs, body blows, and a counter. It aso looks like Little Mac will also be able to eat up attacks during his charge, and nullify some projectiles.
Although Kid Icarus: Uprising studio Project Sora and series lead Masahiro Sakurai are heading up the latest Smash Bros. project, Namco Bandai is handling development duties.
Namco Bandai's team includes producer Masaya Kobayashi (Ridge Racer) and director Yoshito Higuchi (SoulCalibur).
"All the top creators from Namco Bandai are gathered here to create a never-before-seen dream team for this project," Kobayashi said when the partnership was announced in June 2012.
Nintendo did not give release dates for Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, though they are expected to launch in 2014.
