Tales from the Borderlands details coming at SXSW panel

Telltale and Gearbox staff to take questions about partnership

Telltale Games and Gearbox will give the first details about Tales from the Borderlands since its December reveal on March 8.

Telltale co-founder Kevin Bruner and Tales from the Borderlands lead designer Harrison Pink will appear at the panel, along with Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford, Borderlands 2 writer Anthony Burch, and franchise director Matthew Armstrong.

Comedian Kumail Nanjiani and producer/writer Emily V. Gordon, co-hosts of The Indoor Kids gaming podcast, will co-host the panel.

The panel, titled "Two Sides to Every Story," will focus on how the studios came together. Attendees can also expect to see a few glimpses of the episodic adventure game in action before posing their own questions to the panel.

The episodic adventure series was first teased at Spike's VGX with a short trailer, teasing the exploits of two would-be vault hunters across the wastes of Pandora.

Pitchford told Polygon that he "couldn't say yes fast enough" when Telltale approached Gearbox about making an adventure set in the world of Borderlands. "I think they're better storytellers than we are, frankly."
