Dark Souls 2 dev diary reveals dark intentions

Bandai Namco has released a new behind-the-scenes developer diary with From Software, developer of the eagerly-anticipated Dark Souls 2.

The video, which is titled 'Dark Intentions', features key members of the development team discussing the creation of the game. Dark Souls 2 director Yui Tanamura offers a quick primer on the story, while actor and ardent Dark Souls fan Peter Serafinowicz discusses why he finds the series so compelling. Art director Daisuke Satake is also at hand to talk about what informed the design of characters and how the game tells stories visually.

Bandai Namco has confirmed the Dark Souls 2 release date as March 11 in North America and March 14 in Europe for PS3 and Xbox 360. A PC edition of the game will follow "shortly" after.

As previously announced, the pre-order-only Black Armour Edition will be available upon launch, boasting a metal case housing the game disc and official soundtrack.

A Dark Souls 2 Collector's Edition will also be made available, which bundles the Black Armor Edition content when pre-ordered, along with a 12-inch Warrior Knight statue, art-book, map and the official Dark Souls 2 soundtrack.

Those that pre-order the Dark Souls 2's Black Armour Edition or Collector's Edition will receive early access to the Black Armor Weapons packs, gaining access to a total of five weapon packs available at the beginning of the game.
