Ace Combat Assault Horizon skips from GFWL to Steamworks

PC digital title escapes the outgoing Microsoft service

The PC version of Ace Combat Assault Horizon has departed Games for Windows Live and landed on Steamworks, Namco Bandai has announced.

A title update for the game was released Monday to transition the title over to the Steamworks platform. A full guide to the process is here.

Players will be able to transfer over their save files and achievements by April 1. "You will be able to update and keep your achievements and saves between February 24th and April 1st," explains the publisher. "From April 1st, the new version using Steamworks functionalities will become the default version of the game."

The move comes ahead of the closure of Games for Windows Live, which is due to shut down in July.

Ace Combat Assault Horizon debuted as a digital-only title for Xbox 360 and PS3 before being released on PC in 2013 titled Ace Combat Assault Horizon enhanced Edition.

Namco's latest Ace Combat game, the free-to-play Ace Combat Infinity, was given an open beta test earlier this month. The final game is due for launch exclusively for PS3 later this year.
