Infamous Second Son goes gold

Development of Sucker Punch's PS4 exclusive completed ahead of March release

Upcoming PS4 exclusive Infamous Second Son has officially gone gold, meaning development is finished.

The news was confirmed by Sucker Punch Productions co-founder Brian Fleming, who tweeted: "#InfamousSecondSon has gone GOLD! Big day here at SPP!"

Sucker Punch's first PS4 game is set in an open-world Seattle and stars new series protagonist Delsin Rowe, a 24-year-old Native American street artist who can control smoke.

He's viewed as a bioterrorist by the Department of Unified Protection, a branch of government tasked with hunting down those with superhuman abilities.

Rowe can unleash smoke projectiles and fireballs. He can also execute a smoke-dash move and confuse enemies using a smoke cloud. He replenishes smoke by absorbing it from chimneys and destroyed cars.

Publisher Sony has confirmed an InFamous Second Son release date of March 21, 2014. An Infamous PS4 hardware bundle was listed by European retailer last November, but Sucker Punch said in January that it was "still awaiting news on any confirmation of any/all PS4 bundles with Second Son".
