Darksiders 2 has returned to the European Wii U eShop after nearly a year of absence.
Publisher Nordic Games announced Thursday that the action adventure title starring Death had returned to the European arm of Nintendo's digital distribution service.
The Wii U launch title was pulled from the EU eShop in April 2013. No reasoning was given at the time, though it was likely related to former publisher THQ's bankruptcy.
The re-released version includes the "Argul's Tomb," "Death Rides," "Angel of Death," "Shadow of Death," and "Deadly Despair" DLC. Darksiders 2 has remained on the US eShop without interruption since its release in November 2012.
Nordic Games purchased the rights to the Darksiders, Red Faction, and MX vs. ATV franchises for $4.9 million in a final auction for THQ's remaining assets last year. The publisher plans to release Darksiders Collection on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC in the second quarter of 2014.
Nordic CEO Lars Wingefors said last year that he is not in a rush to license out a new Darksiders game.
"I'm impressed with the love and interest that those IPs, especially Darksiders, are bringing it," Wingefors said. "You can see Nordic Game as a middle man in order to create great new sequels. If we can find the right team with the right terms, I'm sure we can find the right financial solution to make it happen."
